Penang car rental
For self-drive in Penang, compare an economy 5-seater with City / Vios. Airport handover, collection in town and one-way return in Ipoh or Kuala Lumpur depend on dates, luggage and vehicle logistics.
Self-drive rental does not include a driver.

Car arrangements that follow your plans.
Share flight arrival time, accommodation, passenger numbers and luggage before confirming collection. If travelling onward from Penang, name your return city too: one-way fees are not automatically included.
Prices are estimates; the final quote is confirmed by our team.
Before you travel
Why is a short rental relatively expensive?
Handover, cleaning and logistics have fixed costs. A longer rental spreads them over more days, so the average daily price is usually lower.
What is the minimum rental period?
We mainly arrange rentals of three days or more. Ask about shorter periods; some one-way rentals have a two-day minimum charge, depending on car and dates.
Is a deposit required?
Yes. The refundable deposit depends on the car and rental period and is separate from the rental price. Return and deductions follow the rental terms.
Is there an extra fee to return in another city?
Usually. Penang–Ipoh is roughly RM100–300, Ipoh–Kuala Lumpur RM200–500, and Penang–Kuala Lumpur RM500–700. These are guides only; car, dates and logistics affect the quote. Use the one-way page for an estimate.
Is there an extra fee for airport collection or return?
Possibly. Airport handover can require different timing and logistics from city collection. Share your flight, date and location for a quote.
Can I change the collection or return location at short notice?
Contact us as early as possible. Changes depend on the vehicle, timing and logistics; a late or intercity change may cost extra.
Is there a mileage limit?
Some cars have limited or unlimited mileage plans. Confirm the plan, excess mileage rate and route before booking.
Can international visitors rent? What documents are needed?
Please enquire with a valid driving licence, identity document or passport, and travel dates. Our team will confirm the applicable document and driving requirements.
What if the car breaks down during the rental?
For a natural vehicle fault or ageing that is not due to negligence, the owner or rental provider covers related repairs. Collision, negligence or external damage from stones, nails or other vehicles may be charged to the renter under the rental terms and circumstances. Contact us immediately so we can arrange inspection, repair or towing. Do not arrange major repairs on your own.
How are insurance, damage and claims handled?
Insurance arrangements, claim conditions, excess and downtime vary by vehicle. Minor damage may be assessed for direct repair. The vehicle, insurance and rental terms govern the outcome.
May someone else drive the rental car?
Please provide details of every intended driver for approval. Do not hand over driving to an unapproved person; the rental terms apply.
